Intro to Containers: Building Reproducible Workflows with Docker

In this virtual workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of containers,
specifically tailored for students, researchers, and developers looking to
improve reproducibility and portability in their workflows. We will cover
essential concepts such as containerization basics, the differences between
containers and virtual machines, interactively containerizing code, and
creating and managing Docker containers. Participants will gain hands-on
experience building Docker images using Dockerfiles and sharing them via GitHub and Docker Hub. Attendees will benefit the most if they come prepared with a laptop that has: 1) access to a terminal with Docker installed, 2) a Docker Hub account, 3) a GitHub account.
